Our Story

Nurturing the arts since 1987

Nadabrahma Academy of Fine Arts & Orchestra began in September 1987 in Thiruvananthapuram, established to nurture and preserve fine arts, music and cultural learning.

From its home at Elankom Gardens, Vellayambalam, the academy offers structured training in vocal music, Indian classical and Western instruments, percussion, dance, and drawing and painting — for children and adults, beginners and advanced learners alike.

Nadabrahma was founded by Adv. Shri Sasthamangalam G. Gopalakrishnan Nair and his wife, Smt. Asha Latha. In September 1987 they established the academy as a place where music and the fine arts could be taught with care, discipline and respect for tradition.

Their founding vision remains the foundation of the academy's work today, and every class taught here continues the legacy they began.

Proprietor

A singer with 40 years of experience in fine arts and orchestra, Narendran G. Nair leads Nadabrahma today as its proprietor, carrying forward the academy's commitment to music and the fine arts.

Our Approach to Learning

Structured, flexible, personal

Students can learn at the academy or online, in a batch or individually, and can prepare for recognised music examinations.

  • Offline Classes

    Regular batches at the academy in Vellayambalam, following the published weekly timetable.

  • Online Classes

    Learn from home through online lessons. Schedules are confirmed on enquiry.

  • One-to-One Training

    Individual training with attention paced to each learner. Timings are arranged on enquiry.

  • Exam Preparation

    Preparation for music examinations, including the graded examinations of ABRSM, London.

Certified Examination Centre for ABRSM, London

Nadabrahma is a Certified Examination Centre for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), London — the first such centre in Trivandrum.

Our Heritage

The journey so far

  1. September 1987

    Nadabrahma Academy of Fine Arts & Orchestra is established in Thiruvananthapuram by Adv. Shri Sasthamangalam G. Gopalakrishnan Nair and Smt. Asha Latha.

  2. Present day

    The academy continues to offer arts education and training in music, dance and fine arts, and serves as a Certified Examination Centre for ABRSM, London.
